Lol!
When Simon finally regain his senses, all the apes were slaughtered and blood filled the cave.
"Oh my..."
He frantically searched around the cave for the old man. Being in the cave alone with all the separate body parts of the apes gave him an eerie feeling. Suddenly he remembered what the old man said.
"The Angel..."
Did the Angel save them once again? Initially, he doubt the existence of Angels, but now... Perhaps the truth will unfold when he found the old man. When he found his way out of the cave, he discovered it was already night. It was chilling, and he could hear a soft weeping sound. He shivered. There seemed to be someone crouching on the edge of the cliff. As Simon approached the cliff, the old man turned with his face wet from tears and for the first time, Simon actually felt sympathy for the old man. He looked so fragile and depressed that it was not difficult to imagine how hard he had lead his life. On impulse, Simon ran over and hugged him. The old man was sobbing like a child who lost his way. Simon, looking at this sight, was thinking, will he end up like this old man in the end, being isolated from the world and hiding all alone? The image of Xing appeared in his mind again...
Back in Flash, Xing was in a dilema. She was feeling a little... strange. She wanted to go look for Simon, but was afraid her dad would object to it. Just then, Chan came to her. "Want to go out for a stroll?" asked Chan. He had noticed his sister's troubled face. Not wanting to get Chan into trouble, she faked a smile and reply "I'm just fine at home." Being a close sibling, Chan could of course see that she was lying. He knew there was something wrong with his sister, but what the problem was, he did not know. He did not met Simon before, and he did not know the incident where Xing met Simon. Xing had not tell anyone. Being curious, Chan asked his sister. After not getting a reply, he pressed on and finally, Xing relented.
On knowing the whole story, Chan was excited. He was looking forward to meeting Simon, or the ape-slaying hero as he called him. Being more daring, he urged Xing to go find Simon with him. "You could just leave a letter behind for dad," suggested Chan, and he drew up a plan of escaping the house unnoticed. Tempted, Xing followed his plan. The next day, all was set. They rode off on their horses at such speed that before long, Flash was out of their sight...
Simon slayed one of the apes effortlessly and another easily, but he was getting tired after he killed the third. Still, he could handle the last ape. However, more apes soon reached the cave. Simon knew he could not win this battle and the only chance of surviving is trying to escape, but he could not abandon this man. Summoning his strength, he fought a fierce battle with the apes.
Ten... Simon thought, ten apes down... Simon was getting exhausted. "ARRG!!" His left arm was cut by the apes. Another injury on his chest soon followed, and Simon fell when he suffered another blow on his head. Suddenly, Simon found himself thinking of Xing...
Just when the apes were about to do their finishing blow, Simon dissappeared. After scanning the whole area, they saw Simon behind a crippled man.
The leader of the apes looked pleased when he saw the man. "Or-e-or-e-or!!" With their warcrys sang, the apes attacked...
"The ... what?" Simon asked. He couldn't believe his ears! Angel... What a joke... But the man looked serious.
Just then, shouts were heard from the base of the mountain. Looking out, Simon got a shock. It was an army of apes! They were making their war crys and preparing to climb up the slope. However, the man appeared unconcerned. There were at least twenty apes. Were they here to capture me back to prison, Simon thought. The most Simon could handle was four to five. The man would be in danger. Simon moved in front of the man to prevent the apes from attacking the man. The man saw Simon's action and laughed.
By that time, four of the apes had reached the cave. They seemed slightly surprised to find Simon in the cave. Simon withdrew his sword in the position of battle. The apes attacked...
After Simon recovered from his shock, he found that all the three apes looked familiar to him. "The wardens!" he exclaimed after recognizing them. Indeed, the three apes were the wardens of the prison. They were cruel and often gave Simon a brutal beating. However, a few months ago, they were sent on a mission and soon disappeared into thin air...
"How did they end up in this condition?" asked Simon. The man ignored Simon's question and kept the heads back into the parcels. Simon knew that the three wardens were quite strong, so who could defeat the three wardens when they join their forces? Even King Kong had to give in to them sometimes. "Don't tell me its..." a thought suddenly occurs to Simon. He examined the man closely. The man was crippled, and he was not very muscular either, so it couldn't be him... Simon thought for a moment. He asked the man a second time, "Who killed the three apes?" The man hesitated for a moment, then finally replied "The Angel..."
The man strucked Simon and Simon fainted. When he regained his senses, it was already in the afternoon. The man was near him examining a sword. With enough light, Simon discovered that the reason the man was so short was because the man's legs were gone. The man was walking with his knees.
"Who are you?" asked Simon. The man ignored him and continued examining his sword. Getting frustrated, he turned to leave.
"Sit down!" spoke the man. His tone had a commanding force. Simon sat on the floor. However, he continued to ignore Simon and fiddled with the sword.
Finally, he kept the sword and asked "Why were you here? Are you a spy of the apes?"
Thinking of the apes, Simon felt disgusted and angry. The man saw his expression and laughed. Then tears began to flow. Simon was surprised. Looking at the man reminded Simon of his life in the ape prison. He was tortured everyday. The apes would tickle him until he cried laughing. He hated the apes and swore to revenge. The man controlled himself and took out three parcels from a dark corner and opened it up. Simon was shocked. It was the head of three apes...
Simon tried to climb up the slope but he only managed to get to a few feet high. Getting despaired, he took out his sword to aid him. Stabbing the sword into the slope made a good handle to climb. Soon, Simon was halfway through the slope. However, it was no mean feat to climb this slope. By the time he reached the peak, night had fallen. Summoning courage, he entered the cave. Being trained in martial arts, his ears were very alert. He heard a breathing sound. Instead of getting afraid, he felt more relax. He knew that it was someone living in this cave, not a ghost. He gripped his sword tightly to prevent being attacked offguard. As he went deeper into the cave, the air felt colder. The cave was quite big. He felt as if he could never finish exploring this cave. As the breathing sound got louder, Simon knew he was getting nearer to the one breathing. The breathing one might be the key to solving the mysterious death of the apes. Just when he thought he was about to reach the one breathing, the sound stopped. Simon totally depended on the sound to find his way. It was pitch-black in the cave. Glancing in all directions, he noticed a faint light coming from his right. He crawled slowly and quietly towards it.
"STOP!"
Simon froze. The command was like a loud roar. It was obviously from a highly skilled man. Simon looked up and saw a very short man standing in front of him, with his mouth filled with blood...
