the rotten apple

the rotten apple
today i went home from school at about 5.00 pm as usual and board the bus 67 to go home.

i was lucky to find a seat beside one elder lady who was sitting nearer to the window. i took out my handphone to start sms-ing junjie (my classmate) about some matters when my nose smelled something that stinks. the first thought was that it probably came from some shit.

i kept observing the old lady beside me, for i thought that she has just shitted in her pants or something. because the smell was REALLY pungent, so pungent i could actully detect shit less than 50cm radius around me.

i kept staring at the old lady, and i thought he sort of detected it because she suddenly woke up from her sleep. i thought she is going to reprimand me or something for staring at her so intently but she walked off and alighted.

so i shifted nearer to the seat where she had sat. i purposely bend my head lower to smell the cushion of the chair (thinking back this is like super disgusting) to check if that old lady had actually shitted before actually sitting down.

to my horror i saw this:

which is really smelly and the culprit of all that shitty smell. just then another lady came over and sat beside me at the seat along the aisle.

DAMN i was stuck. so i sat down and "enjoyed" that smell for the rest of the journey.

just then i could almost imagine myself in the toilet and sitting on the toilet bowl in the bus.

i quickly erased those thoughts from my mind just in case i REALLY want to shit urgently.

then i thought struck me.

why don't TOILET BUSES exist?

i mean wouldn't that be SO GREAT.

i am sick of having to clear my bowels EVERY MORNING, because i was afraid that my intestines (aka the shitting factory) would produce shit that needs to be ejected urgently while i was on the bus to school in the morning.

i don't know why. i have this mental problem when i sit public transport in the morning.

i would think of shitting, feel like shitting and looks like i am shitting.

okay back to the main problem. so i had to WASTE time going to the toilet (be it the toilet in my house or at the interchange) to clear my bowels and that take approximately about 20 mins per day because i would be determined to squeeze out whatever i had in my body for the day before boarding the bus to prevent emergencies from happening.

if you calculate that means...

20 X 5 = 100 mins = 1 h and 40 mins of sleeping time wasted per week!

ARGH.

so TOILET BUSES would be like the perfect solution, not for me, but for all those who had the habit of clearing their bowels every morning.

they can do so on the CUBICLE bus and not waste the time while doing so because their time would also be spent on travelling.

imagine a bus with cubicles equipped with washbasins and toilet bowls.

payment would be made via a flush which would flush down the money into a gigantic container.

oh no worries about the smell and hygiene problems!

the best air freshener would be sprayed EVERY TWO SECONDS.

water ejeculated from the flush would contain PERFUME.

and there would be ventilation windows on the top of the bus.

and the bus is air-conditioned.

big business could be done in a comfortable air-conditioned environment while you are travelling to school!

isn't it so GREAT to have such a bus?!

if such a bus ever succeed, i bet there would be more buses under the TOILET BUSES company. shower bus, jacuzzi bus, sauna bus, changing bus......and the list goes on and on.

i even have a slogon for the TOILET BUSES.

TOILET BUS - ANSWER TO NATURE'S CALL!

such buses, please exist!

orientation is over!

orientation is over
friday marks the end of the two weeks long orientation! and i am gonna say that i love hwa chong like totally!

initially i thought hwa chong was a cheena "dong-dong-qiang" school like many others probably because of the word "hwa" in the school name. but my impression os hwa chong totally changed now!

my classmates are all very fun and cool people. now we really bonded really well, especially after the unexpected win for the best faculty performance and we represented our faculty ARTEMIS to perform during the "campfire".

the campfire wasn't just like any other campfire where we would sit like sort of around a central fire. it was more like a song-cum-dance party!

the faculty dances were really really really cool! the moves made me feel ashamed of our class dance lol.

the thing i love best about hwa chong is the STRONG SCHOOL SPIRIT. i can really feel it, it was undescribable! i have NEVER felt such strong school spirit before!

during the "campfire", ALOT of seniors came back, many came directly after work from their workplace. and they knew all the dance steps for the mass dances and danced with us. the feeling was super duper great!

my senior class stayed back to support our class too! they totally rocked and they also danced with us for the mass dances!

the part that i love most about hwa chong are the COLLEGE SONGS. although they were in chinese, even i, who ONLY LISTENS TO ENGLISH SONGS, can feel the strong school spirit while singing those college songs. they were really nice and emotional. we hugged one another and mass-sang those songs under the night sky and the feeling was super great! believe it or not, some of classmates, including myself, almost cried. because we could really really really feel the extreme strong school spirit!

next was a video they showed us on the history of hwa chong. sounded boring but it was really touching. many CEOs and successful adults could still remember their experiences in hwa chong and they recalled them like it had just happened yesterday when they were interviewed. one indian woman could evne remember the entire chinese "SHAN GE" cheer! there was one part one the whole school had to evacuate because the school building was deemed unsave after the collapse of the hotel new world. and the students and teachers were shedding tears as they sang in the school building for the last time and the students wrote "I LOVE HWA CHONG" all over the school building. it was a very truthful and touching scene that i almost shed some tears. i thought i was being too emotional, but after which i found that many guys in my class almost shed some tears too.

really hope i can remain in this school after first three months.

the really nice fire mural done by the SCs. think evne the fire felt the strong school spirit because there is suppose to be the words "LET'S JAM!" on the mural but the "LET'S" refused to catch fire initially. after our constant cheering it immmediately caught fire and we got the nice complete picture! (:

us performing during the class faculty item during the "campfire"...

the really cool faculty dances...

our cool class banner! (: the dolphin represents our faculty (:

mingming, our class COOL CT-rep! (:

and the not so cool "is-the-sky-gonna-fall-on-me?" candid shot of myself LOL.

with our senior class! (: our seniors changed into their old secondary school uniforms! (:

with our seniors again! (: they stayed back till 9.00 pm plus to help us buy back to school our dinner while we stayed back to practise the class item and paint the banner (: they even wrote "jia you" (saw it?) on the cover of the styrofoam packages. ain't they great? (:

05s65 rocks! (:

kudos to the hwa chong spirit!

first week!

first week!
hello all!

i have decided not to list any resolutions this year because i have them all in mind haha. my only resolution is to keep my new year resolutions!

first week in hwa chong instituition was a real surreal blur...NOT.

as expected almost the whole school is occupied by hwa chong instituition (high school section) and nanyang girls' high school IP program students.

first week was spent with our orientation groups most of the time. i was in OG 31 and ALL the guys were from HCI (high school section). most of them were PRCs, but many were really nice to talk to except for a few who were really weird. when i asked them questions, they refused to reply. maybe i asked too stupid questions, i didn't know!

got to know my class yesterday. i am in 06s65 which is a really cool class together with 6 other rvians! HAHA! half the boys from my class is from RV! there are me, yongkang, yeowlin, songhua, jinkiat, joel and mingming in my class.

there are four HCI guys in my class and they were really friendly people! not like those "weird" ones that i mentioned above!

my senior class rocks too! they organise this really fun game yesterday and i had a great time laughing out LOUD. really LOUD!

the mass dances were really enjoyable because almost EVERYONE was enthusiatic about it. i like the wild wild west one best! and the songs were really nice. they sound like those guitar unplugged version chinese pop songs :).

my class has just warmed up! hope we would cheer really loud and be super enthusiatic next week! can't wait for next week where i would be spending more time with my class!

hope everyone has got a nice week ahead. if you are feeling down for whatever reason, do not worry. LOOK HERE, bet you would laugh! (PS: pictures are DECEIVING, i am not THAT disgusting ok! :P)

happy new year eve!

happy new year eve!
WOOTS!

cannot believe that today is the last the very very very last day of the year 2005!

okay take a deep breath and get ready as i am going to say THAT super cliche statement now: TIME FLIES!

INDEED.

prelims were over...
o levels were over...
RVCB days were over...
RV days were over...
just like that!

anyway due to curiosity sake, i went to look at the resolutions i set at this very day last year rather hesitantly cause i seriously think that i did not really abide by them very much. ):

decided to paste them all here and do an OH-SO-DID-I-DO-IT? evaluation.

Yichun's Wishlist 2005:

1) STOP writing crappy essays for English.

i have just written another crappy essay for the commonwealth essay competition, which is part of the english holiday assignments. i wrote about my family, and it was so crappy and written in primary-school-styled english.

it goes like this...

My father...

My mother...

My sister...

THE END.

yar, i should REALLY improve on my english and STOP writting crappy essays, especially when it is going to be the OH! level year.

OH-SO-DID-I-DO-IT?

NO!

erm. yup technically speaking i did not. i shall tell you why...because my O level essay goes like this...

Firstly...

Secondly...

Thirdly...

In conclusion...

2) Get into Hwa Chong Junior Colleage. haha, my cousin is in hwa chong and i have the sudden urge to go there too. AND i am in that stupid Hwa Chong Association Programme which is practically USELESS.

OH-SO-DID-I-DO-IT?

YES!

for the first three months at least. was in a dilemma between Hwa Chong and National but eventually settled for Hwa Chong due to family-pressure.

oh yeah. the Hwa Chong Association Programme is TOTALLY USELESS, at least to me.

3) I will be able to survive putting on braces. well, plucking four teeth seems to be REALLY scary. i think i might even CRY.

OH-SO-DID-I-DO-IT?

YES!

WOOTS! i survived! i am a survivor! the first visit to extract the first two teeth was a breeze, because songhua told me that it only hurts like an ant bite. but in the end i realised that it is in actual fact a SCORPION STING (thanks to songhua anyway for telling a white lie to me so i survived the first visit (:) erm as for the second visit to extract another two teeth i was super scared and nervous. READ HERE!

4) Survive Chow-Abuse and win THE GREAT SCIENCE CHALLENGE.

PS: Mr Chow wants to meet the team tomorrow, ON NEW YEAR'S EVE, and he even warned us that we need to camp OVERNIGHT in school to prepare for the competition.

OH-SO-DID-I-DO-IT?

YES! and NO!

woohoo! i am a survivor once again! i survived chow-abused and even managed to discover mr chow's deepest secret! (note: mr chow is not as abusive as he may seem, he is very nice actually. one of the most memorable teachers i ever have!)

but we did not win the competition. ): nevertheless it was quite an unforgettable experience for me! (:

5) Practise really hard for SYF 2005. Putting on braces will DEFINITELY affect my playing on the flute, especially my tone!

OH-SO-DID-I-DO-IT?

YES! and NO!

because we got GOLD WITH HONOURS during the SYF competition! probably the most unforgettable day in my entire rv band life was that evening when all of us knew the results! MANY were so happy that we cried with tears of happiness! ARGH, but i commited several blunders on the actual day itself, despite all the practices! READ ABOUT IT HERE !

6) Grow taller. I had to reach at least 1.6 m by July 2005 (which is 99.999999999% IMPOSSIBLE, but there can be miracles when you believe). If not, more check-ups are waiting for me =(.

OH-SO-DID-I-DO-IT?

YES!

of course! if not i something must be terribly wrong with my body or maybe i am inhuman or maybe i am an alien from outer space. nevertheless got this letter.

7) Finally figure out the correct usage of these confusing things:
BAD MOOD
DU DIAO
the symbols ?-.-" / -.-
NOOB
PORN
PISSED

OH-SO-DID-I-DO-IT?

NO!

and i don't really care now! those words can be self-defined i think, there is really no true definitions for them.

8) To tie in with the TEACH LESS, LEARN MORE campaign, i shall TALK LESS, listen more. BUT if nobody is talking, i shall talk. =P

OH-SO-DID-I-DO-IT?

YES! / NO!

my friends shall decide for me for this. but i seriously think that it should be a NO! for this :P.

9) Win one arcade game. I have NEVER won any arcade games before, although i was SO close to winning TIME CRISIS 3'S STAGE 1 once.

OH-SO-DID-I-DO-IT?

YES!

YEAH! i completed one para para machine game (ALL stages) while dancing like a robotic freako. congratulate me please! (: as for the rest of the games, doubt i can even pass the first stage, except for Daytona for which i had a 99.9999% chances of getting the last position. so next time if you want to win, just challenge me yeah? it would probably be a sure-win situation for you! (:

10) READ. I realised that i had only read ONE pathetic?english book so far this year - The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time.

OH-SO-DID-I-DO-IT?

NO!

ARGH! i so did not read! this would probably be one of my greatest regrets for 2005. this also explains for my sub-standard english and crappy essays.

11) To achieve a certain criteria so that i can change that "LOUSY AT ALL SPORTS" label to "BETTER AT ONE SPORT".

OH-SO-DID-I-DO-IT?

NO!

i am hopeless in this!

haha shall set my 2006 resolutions tomorrow! (:

jinhern, the master of close-up pictures

jinhern, the master of close-up pictures
HEY ALL!

i was looking at all the photographs that jinhern had taken during our trip to hongkong when i realised that the way he captured close-up pictures of my section members reminded me of some movie posters that i have seen...

for a start there is man in black...

VS

our very own man in PINK...

next
there is Zhang Ziyi's Memoirs of a Geisha...

VS

our very own "Geisha"...

thirdly
there was this very popular disney cartoon called "Sleeping Beauty"...

VS

our very own REAL LIFE FACE-TO-FACE "Sleeping Beauty"...

and lastly there is the evil Chucky from "Seed of Chucky"...

VS

MYSELF ! how did jinhern manage to capture me with such an evil grin!

photographs are not photoshopped and are 100% original, this shows how professional jinhern is at close-up shots ;).

hire him if you need a photographer, will you? (of course, he would need to pay me for the advertising fees =P)

Merry Christmas Eve eve

Merry Christmas Eve eve
long time since i last blogged!

christmas is coming, and the season of love is here...

BUT i am sick.

i am down with a horrible cold and cough. maybe this is revenge for me for laughing at gabriel lee when he told me that he had had the worst cold he ever had last week.

anyway the past few days had been spent rotting at home. i can feel myself decomposing.

been wanting to do to my aunt's condominium for a swim but it kept raining nowadays!

anyway, this afternoon i went to this neighbourhood shopping centre call "limbang" for lunch. while eating my food, i kept sneezing with packets of tissue i brought along and placed the used tissues beside my plate. after i had finished eating the noodles i bought, i decided to buy another popiah to eat. while doing so, a woman went forward to collect the empty bowl from which i had eaten and use her hands to TOUCH THE PILE OF PHLEGM-INFESTED TISSUE.

GOSH!

i dared not warn her about it. bet her hands were marinated with my phlegm! disgusting!

went for dental check-up yesterday. learnt a lesson from my last visit, so this time i brought a whopping 200 bucks with me for the visit. ironically, the fees for that particular visit amount up to only a measly EIGHTY CENTS.

managed to finally packed my room today. threw away tons of secondary one and two textbooks, worksheets and whatever-nots. feel so sad for the trees that were cut down to produce those things. =(

merry christmas everyone! (:
